if you want to feel good...

I know it is Monday and all, and some people don't do Mondays too well. So first, a pretty picture of the cherry blossom trees at Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ.

And now, if you want to watch something that is just very nice, and very positive, and I think very sweet, have a look at this This Very Nice Video from Britain's Got Talent. Sorry that it can't be embedded but click over and watch it and I can guarantee you will have a smile on your face afterward.

Thanks to The Anchoress for pointing this one out.

  1. Cherry Blossoms are so pretty. They call it hanami in Japan and we went with our class and ate from bento boxes when I was there. An extra Japan memory just for you!

  2. The cherry blossoms picture is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing that with us. I would love to be walking down that path in the sunshine. Thanks for posting the video of Britains Got Talent! Amazing! I actually had goosebumps and tears in my eyes. I'm amazed that they have this show running at the same time American Idol is. I wonder if it's taped or Simon Cowell goes back and forth.

  6. Lenore, you know I love those Japanese memories of yours. Thanks for the extra one
    ...lol
I grew up in Newark and a visit to see the cherry blossoms this time of year was a must. the park has about 3000 trees, which I read once was one of the largest collections in the US, a gift of the department store heiress Bamberger. The Bamgerger store is another memory of my Newark youth.

the video..yes Kathy, it is nice to see a very ordinary middle aged woman just amaze them all. Nice to see a pleasant, happy Simon too, wasn't it Sandy?
Bonnie, not sure how they schedule the two shows...

  10. much of Newark is ugly..and I can say that because it is my hometown..and ugly. But Branch Brook park is an exception and I have many happy memories there..sledding in the winter, the cherry blossoms, watching Irish football games with father when I was very young, the skating rink..and the beautiful Sacred Heart Cathedral, a lovely french gothic building on the edge of the park..
